We are happy to inform you the following good news.

We have managed to release a boy young boy named Pankaj (aged 16) from the Boys Juvenile Home (boys orphanage). We have arranged for his welfare and he will receive training as a house keeper in Jan Shiksha Sansthan in Mau. He will go there with Sunil who is also a former child of the Juvenile centre and they will be well looked after. With the training they receive they will be able to find jobs and provide for themselves. They boys who are released have little education or training therefore it is vital that we find them suitable training after they leave the home. Otherwise they will most likely end up homeless and without much hope for the future.

Once the training is finished we hope to arrange jobs for them with the Jan Shiksha Sansthan. The boys homes are unknown to us and they have little chance of finding their families. However with work skills and a source of income they can build a life for themselves.

Once again, thank you so much. Our work can only happen through your support.

Mohini is a young girl who belongs to the Gypsy caste in India. Her family have been living in Sarnath for a long time. Mohini attended school in the village and received excellent grades in many classes. However Monini has been forced to leave education due to poverty in the family. The reality in India is that the education of girls is of low importance. The main functions of females here are to reproduce and tend to the home. For this reason they are often treated as second class to men and suffer badly.

Mohini fell victim of this social injustice when she became seriously ill. She was suffering from appendix pain but because of money problems she was left untreated. She contracted a serious infection in her intestine and the problem became a real threat to her life. She could not find anyone to help her however until she came in contact with the D-Foundation. We sent her to the hospital immediately and she underwent surgery to save her life. Thankfully the operation was a success and she is dong well. She is still in hospital and we are providing for her needs. We would like to rehabilitate her and train her in computers which would help her future prospects. We hope we can help her to overcome her physical and mental pains and she can have a happy future.

Permaculture may have solutions to all these problems according to the experience of John Button of over 30 years, and reflected by the more conventional experience of more than 15 years by agronomist Francesca Simonetti. The demonstration of Permaculture has been done by John and Francesca under the DF agriculture project with the support of the Vikas as a translator of the English into Hindi at Varma Temple in Sarnath on Sunday. There were 20 to 30 people attending the workshop, including the Kiran Centers Group.

The workshop started with the introduction of the D-Foundation.
The programme was arranged in three phases: Theory and explanation; slide show; and finally practical. During the programme a lot of questioning on the themes of worm composting and bio-gas were raised by the participants. Everybody was listening carefully and enjoying the slide show. The basic knowledge also explained of how to plant a tree , how to provide the structure, how to arrange all the elements needed by a family or farm according to suitable zones, so that all needs of each element are supplied by their relationship with other elements placed nearby.

At the end, John and Francesca planted the trees and accompanying vegetables according to such factors as the sun light and excess or lack of water in each micro-zone, and they showed where you can find and attract the worms. Also, they demonstrated the 'sponge' technique. All was great !

So, it seems very necessary to spread the Permaculture all over the world, to apply it according to the local culture and environmental conditions. It is clear that we all have the capacity to improve our world ecologically, while improving the production of the resources we need for our good living. Abundance for all!
