Sandeep's rehabilitation

This is Sandeep who is in need of our help. When he was a boy, Sandeep lived with his parents in Mumbai. His father was a labourer and unfortuanately was forced to leave his home and live with a neighbour. At the age of 5th Sandeep was sent to the his fathers native town in Bihar to live with his uncle. His uncle made him work hard in the fields like a labourer and he missed home a lot. One day he decided to run away to his parents in Mumbai. He caught a train from Bihar to Mumbai but during a changover in the train someone kidnapped him and took him to Pratapgarh in Utter Pradesh. They used him like slave in the fields and while he asked many times to leave, he was not allowed. He decided to run away from there and he caught a train and reached Varanasi. Unfortunately, there police caught him without ticket and he was sent to the Juvenile home. He was freed in August ‘08 with the help of the D-Foundation team, however we are still trying to find his parents. In the meantime, we are providing him shelter and training programs such as training to be a professional cook in restaurant. Now he is staying with us and we are providing full accommodation and teaching him to read and write. He said if we do not find his parents, he is willing to work with us for the destitute and poor people. He has a very positive approach and we are very happy to help him and having him as part of our D-Foundation family at least for now.
