Roter Lotus Medical Care: report from 24th August 2011
Babhanpura Guara is very poor village situated in a remote area, approximately 12km from our medical centre in Sarnath. The village has a population of about three to four thousand people. We started health camp at 10am and continued through to 2pm. The doctors treated over three hundred patients most of which were women, children and elderly people. We then provided them with the medicine prescribed by the doctors. Various medicines were dispensed including homeopathic, ayurvedic and allopathic medication. We also scheduled follow up checkups in the Roter Lotus Medical Centre in Sarnath.
Due to the high demand and amounts of people attending our Out-Patients Department (OPD) in Sarnath we have now extended the opening hours. The clinic is now available from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 1pm. The doctors are available during these hours are and provide medical attention and medicine. During all opening hours we provide care in the following areas: homeopathic, gynaecology, paediatric and eye care. The ayurveda doctor is also present during these times except for Mondays.
The extended opening hours were necessary because of the huge crowds which attended out Sunday clinics. Along with the OPD clinics, every Wednesday we plan to go to villages and slums with our mobile clinic and again provide free medical care and medicine. Our aim is to provide free medical care to the poorest people within 25km from our centre in Sarnath.
