Recent activities
The Boys Juvenile Home in Ramnagar has been in need of paint for some time. We finally sourced some funds through a local Vietnamese Trust. We have made an excellent start and have finished painting the entire inside of the building. The boys who wanted to paint were also allowed to join in and the painting really lifted spirits in the home. We do however still need funds for the outside of the building, which will cost in the region of 35000 rupee or 500 euro. If you are interested in helping with this need please contact us.
As most of you are aware, the boy’s home is a government detention centre for boys with deceased or missing parents. We have employed a psychologist, Ritu, who has been working in the home for the past six months. She is there to cope with their psychological needs along with any other general needs or problems. She has completed psychological test of each boy in the home. Now we have a better understanding of their situation and needs. We are currently planning for the future course of action which will involve one more permanent counselor and improvement of the conditions in the home.

Vocational Training Centres
The new season of our vocational training programs is going to start in all centers from next month. We have also planned to start one further center at Pampapur village (where we currently take care of five orphaned children). This year 186 girls were trained in various skills such as sewing, embroidery, reading/writing, family planning, health & hygiene awareness, beauty therapy and women empowerment programs. This vital training provides these women with a means to support themselves. Women who cannot support themselves and do not have a husband or family to do so are placed in permanent detention centers. Many women spend the rest of there lives in detention and this situation must be avoided at all costs.

As mentioned, we immediately require funds for the painting in the Boys Juvenile Home and to continue with our work in the vocational centres.
