Introduction to Kaushambi Hope e.V.
We would like to introduce you to Kaushambi Hope e.V., the recently established German charitable organisation. It has been set up as a sponsoring society of D-Foundation, a non-governmental organisation based in Sarnath and Varanasi in Northern India.
D-Foundation is a non-profit aid organisation which was founded in 2006 by several Indian social workers, humanitarian workers and journalists. From the beginning, D-Foundation has been integrated into the socio-cultural background of the local community in one of the country‘s poorest federal states. In reward for their great efforts and sustained success in the first two years, the Uttar Pradesh Government recently named D-Foundation as the most reliable and trustworthy non-governmental organization in the region. D-Foundation has undertaken a commitment to provide further education and jobs for those in need. They work with all people but particularly with abandoned women and widows with children. Their main endeavour is to build lasting social relationships and leading to economic independence for the families.
Due to their increasing range of responsibilities and to create an adequate base for the charity, D-Foundation has decided to relocate and focus existing projects to the Kaushambi area of Sarnath. This area has enormous historical significance as it was here that Buddhism began and where many teaching from Buddha took place. The Kaushambi Hope e.V. project will both protect this important site and use land for the good of the local people. Over the coming years “Kaushambi Village” will emerge as a place for human solidarity and peace.
As a registered non-governmental and charitable organisation, D-Foundation relies solely upon the support and sponsorship from sponsors. We are asking for your help in enhancing the lives of these impoverished people by enabling them to live self-determined lives in dignity. Sponsors will receive a monthly newsletter with an update on the project and how your funds are being used. The Kaushambi Hope Society will endeavour to keep transfer and administration expenses to a minimum and ensure all donations are used in the best way possible. We invite all sponsors to visit us at D-Foundation in Sarnath to view and actively assist us in our work. Visits to this area are extremely worthwhile allowing sponsors to meet the villagers and volunteers, and become familiar with the cultural and archaeological points of interest in the cities of Varanasi and Sarnath.
All financial contribution, small or large will help this destitute population. Receipts can be given on all donations for over 50 euro. We have taken the liberty of enclosing a money transfer form along with information on D-Foundation and the Kaushambi project itself. We would like you to open your heart to these people and also thank you in advance for your assistance.
